Gurgel, the oldest practicing skydiving in Brazil

Eduardo Abdias Gurgel de Araujo is a retired Captain from the Parachute Brigade of the Brazilian Army. He is 76 years old and one of the oldest skydivers of Brazil.

Cpt Gurgel makes part of a group of parachuting called ?Os cometas? (The comets). He practices the sport for 50 years and he has already jumped 2000 times.Talking about the equipments he says that nowadays they are safer than the ones he used when he stared jumping. Just like Cpt Gurgel , the Lieutenant Grossi is also a member of the group ?Os Cometas? since 2008 and he says that be part of the group is a very gratifying experience. There are other members of the group participating of the competition and working on the organization.
